These 12 interesting songs are a mixture of Caribbean and popular styles of music I loved in the earlier musical days of my life. I would hear these styles and start dancing and humming. In the 50s and 60s people sang a lot more in their cars and at parties … almost as much as folks in Mexico.

It was fun and we all sang out as we fit with the groups we were with — we would sing bass, middle range, or soprano — whatever we were capable to do best. It was great fun.

This is a special CD for my daughter, Laura, and her son and daughter, Drake and Amber. Amber has a beautiful daughter, Brooklynn, who needs some lullabies. Drake and Amber spent the summers with me on Pine Island, Florida, each summer from 5 until about 10-11 years old. We would camp out on the islands next to the Gulf of Mexico beside a campfire and fall asleep to the waves washing up on the beach. I would play the songs on my little accordion and tell them sailing stories of various adventures I had in the Caribbean.

Island Morning Glow

This CD stretches out the areas from which the music styles come to much further than just the Caribbean. However, these far-away styles of music seem to fit nicely. The primary reason is the rhythms are exciting as well.

I’m very happy with the results, especially for how well they fit together and actually enhance each other. After listening to this CD, I feel happy and excited. I hope it has that effect on you.

Island Thoughts

My experiences in the Caribbean sailing on beautiful waters or enjoying exciting music on shore will never leave me. Composing music from these experiences always takes me back there. Now, when I am composing and arranging the music while looking outside you can tell where my mind is. It is obvious the music is reflecting where the source of the rhythms and feelings come from.

This is mostly from deep feelings from living and loving an exciting and beautiful past. I hope you have these feelings from your past so that you can keep enjoying life.

Island Sunset

This CD is very unique in that it is comprised of Caribbean and New Orleans styles. These places had a close relationship because of their ties to supplies via the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Seas. People could more easily travel back and forth, which further tied these places together … musically and commercially.

For me, there is a wonderful correlation between the musical styles. Enjoy!
